President Barack Obama.
I want to acknowledge my president, and give a sincere thank you on this, election day, to the man who's fought for the middle class, through extreme vitriol and record filibusters from a party that's done close to nothing to help this country for almost 4 years.
I want to thank you, Mr. Obama, for your service to our country. Rather than take high paying jobs directly out of college, you chose to come back to Chicago and become a community organizer - something the right to this day believes is beneath the common man, and obviously beneath dignity.
Thank you for staying above the fray, for remaining firm in your stances, for remaining optimistic, for pushing back on an elite who sees it more important to protect their bottom line over that of the poor and the weak.
Thank you for your beautiful family. Thank you for your inspiration; thank you for being that iconoclast in a country of great uncertainty, that, despite what many assert, was on the edges of collapse.
Thank you for your decency, and for your love of country. Thank you most of all though, Mr. President, for taking part in the struggle.
You are my president.
